Description
Appearance: These lizards are known for their ability to change color, especially during the breeding season. Males often develop a bright red throat and head during this time, which is how they earned the nickname "bloodsucker," although they do not actually suck blood.
Habitat: They are highly adaptable and are commonly found in gardens, open woodlands, scrublands, and even urban areas across many parts of Asia.
Behavior: They are diurnal (active during the day) and are often seen perching on tree trunks, fences, or walls, waiting to catch insects. They are territorial and will often display by "bobbing" their heads to warn off rivals.
Diet: They are primarily insectivores, feeding on various small insects, spiders, and occasionally small invertebrates.
